A new report has painted a bright picture for employment prospects in the advertising and marketing industry in India.
TeamLease EdTech said that companies operating in the advertising and marketing sector are hiring freshers as demand picks up for candidates with skills in AI, analytics and digital operations.
According to the report, fresher hiring intent in the sector stands at 62 per cent for the first half of this year. Last year, for the same period, this figure stood at just 11 per cent.
The freshers’ hiring push is being credited to increasing investments in digital advertising, social commerce and performance-led campaign strategies.
According to the report, this jump in hiring intent is one of the strongest YoY increases across sectors.
TeamLease EdTech said the sector has witnessed increase in freshers’ hiring intent steadily over the last two years – from 6 per cent in first half of 2024 to 11 per cent in 2025 and then to 62 per cent in 2026.
This shows the demand for digitally skilled talent is growing. The report notes that the hiring intent is shifting from traditional creative and brand-focussed roles to tech-enabled positions such as Digital Campaign Analyst, AI Marketing Associate, Ads Operations Executive and Market research Assistant.
Shantanu Rooj, Founder & CEO, TeamLease EdTech, said, “Entry-level hiring today is being shaped by campaign analytics, marketing automation, ad operations, and AI-assisted execution. Employers are looking for candidates who can work across platforms, interpret performance data, and contribute to revenue-focused digital strategies from day one.”
Rooj added that companies are now looking at marketing as a measurable business function.
