National, 01 September 2026 : NTPC, India’s largest integrated power utility, has announced Electron Quiz 2026–27, its flagship initiative aimed at nurturing a generation of curious and forward-thinking minds. Scheduled from 5th September, with the opening regional round in Lucknow, to culminating with the National Finale on 8th October 2026, the quiz will be conducted across nine regional locations, reaffirming NTPC’s commitment to engaging India’s brightest young minds and encouraging a culture of intellectual excellence.
The regional rounds will be held from 5th September to 5th October 2026 across nine cities: Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Raipur, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Noida. Each regional round offers exciting prizes, with ₹60,000 for the winning team, ₹40,000 for the runners-up, and ₹20,000 for the third-placed team. Teams securing fourth to sixth positions will receive a consolation prize of ₹8,000 each.
The top two teams from each region will advance to the three National Semi-Finals, while the top two teams from each Semi-Final will earn a place in the National Finals.
The National Semi-Finals and Grand Finale will be held on 7th and 8th October 2026, respectively, at NTPC’s Power Management Institute (PMI). At the national level, the competition gets even more exciting, with a first prize of ₹1,00,000, second prize of ₹60,000, and third prize of ₹40,000. Teams securing fourth, fifth, and sixth positions will receive ₹16,000 each, while the remaining 12 teams will be awarded ₹8,000 each.
Themed ‘The World of Business & Management’, the competition is designed for engineering and management students, with each team comprising two members. The quiz aims to broaden participants’ knowledge and sharpen critical-thinking skills.
Organised since 2004, the NTPC Electron Quiz is a flagship initiative that fosters learning and intellectual growth. As NTPC continues to expand its installed capacity and strengthen its presence in India’s power sector, the quiz has grown in scale and stature, becoming bigger and more impactful with each passing year.
