Vikrant Mudaliar has stepped down as Chief Marketing Officer of Dream Sports, ending an eight-year stint during which he led the marketing strategy behind the company’s flagship brands, including Dream11.
Mudaliar joined Dream Sports in 2018, at a time when the fantasy sports segment was witnessing rapid growth in India. When Mudaliar was at the helm, Dream11 grew its user base to over 260 million users. At the same time, the company’s portfolio expanded to include brands such as FanCode, DreamSetGo, Dream Cricket, Dream Money, Dream Play, Dream Horizon and the Dream Sports Foundation.
Mudaliar, as CMO, worked on building the company’s brand strategy while also leading several high-profile marketing campaigns across sporting events, including the Indian Premier League (IPL). His campaigns featured leading personalities from cricket and the entertainment industry, and played a key role in strengthening Dream11’s position in India’s fantasy sports market.
Mudaliar worked with Yatra Online as Chief Marketing Officer before joining Dream Sports. There, he oversaw brand marketing and revenue initiatives across the travel platform’s businesses. Earlier, he headed sales and marketing at Lenskart, helping the online eyewear retailer grow during its expansion phase.
Mudaliar also spent nearly nine years at Tata Sky, where he rose to the position of Vice President (Brand Marketing). During his tenure, he was associated with several brand-building initiatives that helped establish the direct-to-home television platform as one of the country’s leading consumer brands.
He began his career with General Motors India, working on the Chevrolet and Opel brands.
An MBA from École des Ponts Business School, Mudaliar has over two decades of experience across sectors including media, telecom, e-commerce, travel and sports technology.
